The Galo Welfare Society on Saturday staged a sit-in protest against the government for delaying justice for late APPSC official Tumi Gangak.
The protest was held at the tennis court in Itanagar, and saw massive participation from people.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Nyada Loya, general secretary of the Galo Welfare Society, demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits under appropriate IPC sections.
The Galo Welfare Society has also demanded compensation for the Late Tumi Gangkak’s family at the earliest.
Tumi Gangkak was the lone witness of the APPSC fiasco, and it is a crafted murder, the GWS secretary added.
The Galo Welfare Society also threatened to make it a state-wide issue if the government does not fulfil their demands.
The Galo Welfare Society had earlier informed that all Galo community employees will take one day of casual leave in all 26 districts of Arunachal Pradesh on April 10.
The demands made by the Galo Welfare Society include:
1) Police investigation reports on Lt. Tumi Gangkak’s death should be made public immediately.
2) Immediate arrest of Bumchu Krong, SIC inspector, and other culprits involved.
3) Immediate suspension of Bumchu Krong and other involved culprits for a free and fair investigation.
4) Appropriately and fairly compensate the late Tumi Gangkak’s family.
5) Fast-track court for speedy trial in Tumi Gangkak death case.
