Arunachal: Centre’s nod to 6 corridors along LAC

The development can be considered as a crucial one, since it will help in the smooth movement of security forces in the frontier areas.

In a big boost to the connectivity sector in the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh, the Centre has given a nod for the development of key road projects along the India-China border.

These include development of the National Highway (NH-15), Trans Arunachal Highways- NH-13 & NH-215 and Frontier Highways.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the project, which proposes for the construction of 6 corridors with a total length of 2178 km.

As per reports, the key stretches that would be developed till the border are- Itakhola-Seijosa-Pakke Kessang- Seppa Chayangtajo- Sanggram-Parsi Parlo 391 km, Kanubari- Longding 404 KM, Akajan- Pango Jorging 398 km, Gogamukh Tahila Tato 285km, Thelamara- Tawang- Nelia (border) 402km and Pasighat Bishing (border) 298 km.

Upon completion of the projects, it will indeed be a shot in arm for the security forces in mobilizing with machines in the frontier areas.
