Arunachal: Donyi Polo airport to be operational all 7 days in a week

On November 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport built at Hollongi, 15 kms from the capital city of Itanagar.


Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister today informed that the Donyi Polo Airport will now be operational all 7 days a week.

CM Khandu in a post on X shared the information and mentioned, “Exciting news for travellers flying from Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar! The Airport now will be operational for all seven days.

The @AAI_Official has already upgraded the Airport Licence for night landing which will enable operation of evening flights from Summer.”

The airport is equipped with ILS and CAT-I approach lighting system for all weather operations.

On November 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport built at Hollongi, 15 kms from the capital city of Itanagar.

Built at a cost of Rs 646 crore, the airport has a capacity to accommodate 300 passengers during peak hours and handle B-737 and A – 320 type aircrafts. The airport is equipped with ILS (Instrument Landing System) and CAT-I approach lighting system for all weather operations.

The new airport, spanning an area of 4,100 sq m is Arunachal Pradesh’s first airport with a runway of 2,300 metres, suitable for the landing and take-off of Boeing 747, one of the largest passenger aircraft.
