Arunachal: 937 former Congress supporters join BJP

Impressive developmental work done by the BJP in the state inspired the newly-joined members
In a boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh in the 19th Nyapin ST assembly constituency, ahead of the 2024 elections, 937 Congress supporters joined the saffron party in a programme held at Layaang, in Kurung Kumey district today.
State BJP President Biyuram Wahge, 19th Nyapin MLA Bamang Felix and other key BJP members were present at the meeting.
Felix expressed his confidence in securing re-election from his constituency and said that the aim of the party in the state is to build upon the commendable work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Speaking to Northeast Live, one of the newly-joined members said that the impressive developmental work done by the BJP in the state inspired them to join the party. He said that roads and electricity have reached areas which were previously deprived of these facilities.
