The Yupia Session Court in Arunachal Pradesh today granted interim bail to Gomo Sora(51) and Mopin Sora(28) (father and son) for seven days. The father-son duo was arrested in connection with the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak scam.
The duo have been granted interim bail for a week to attend Gomo Sora’s mother’s funeral, who died last night.
The father-son duo filed for an immediate bail petition before the court.
Following this, the court heard the bail petitions today and granted them interim bail.
Gomo and Mopin Sora were imprisoned in Itanagar’s Jully Jail. They will have to return to jail after their 7-day interim bail period expires.
Meanwhile, accused Minoty Borang Saroh, who is a 2019 batch civil service officer also filed a bail petition, however, the court rejected her request for bail.
Worth mentioning here is that earlier the court granted interim bail to accused Tanyang Gaduk (57) for 20 days on medical grounds so that he can avail of medical facilities at Gangaram Hospital Delhi.
It may be mentioned that the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police so far arrested 32 persons in connection with APPSC paper leak scam.
The AE (civil) question paper leak case has been handed over to the CBI.
The SIC is investigating all the other cases based on several FIRs filed by the aggrieved aspirants.
The SIC is investigating cases since 2014 related to the paper leak case.
