Arunachal Pradesh: Suspended APPSC official Tumi Gangkak laid to rest

A pall of gloom descended at Darak circle in West Siang district as suspended APPSC official Tumi Gangkak was laid to rest this afternoon. It was an emotional moment as family members and his well wishers paid their last tributes to Gangkak who was found hanging from a tree in Poma village.
Earlier, controversy had erupted after the suspended APPSC official’s family members as well as Galo community organisations had decided to bury his body in the premises of the under-construction APPSC office.
However, the situation pacified later, after family members of suspended APPSC officer Tumi Gangkak met Arunachal Pradesh home minister Bamang Felix last night on his invitation and agreed to follow the law.
The family, after the meeting with minister Felix said that they will take the deceased’s body to his village for cremation today.
As per inputs, the Home Minister had assured the family members of Tumi Gangkak that a special team will be formed under SP Capital to fast track investigation into Tumi’s death.
It may be mentioned that, Tumi Gangkak, under-secretary of APPSC was found hanging from a tree in Poma Village in Papum Pare district.
Gangkak was under suspension for his alleged involvement in the APPSC question paper leak scam.
According to inputs, Gangkak who was the Assistant Controller of Exams, was summoned by the CBI after which he went missing. Meanwhile, family members and Galo community organisations had cried foul over the entire incident stating that it was not a case of suicide.
However, only proper probe will reveal the truth.
