The Galo Students Union today said that under the circumstances under which the body of suspended APPSC under secretary Tumi Gangkak was recovered, it does not seem that it is a case of suicide.
Speaking to media, after Tumi’s body was taken to the TRIHMS, Galo Students Union president Bozir Bole said,”Under the circumstances his body was found, we can’t directly say it to be a murder, but it looks like a murder because it has been said that his wrist was slit, and also cuts were visible in his feet. If the person is injured in such a way than that individual cannot hang himself.”
The Galo Students Union president added, “The way in which his body was found, it does not seem that this is a case of suicide. The family (Tumi Gangkak)’s sentiments are similar to ours. Let, the post-mortem report come.”
“But our appeal is, whatever the family is demanding, if it remains unfulfilled, we will resort to a democratic form of agitation,” Bozir Bole added.
Responding to Tumi Gangkak’s family members alleging that he had gone missing after being summoned to the CBI office by a cop of the SIC investigating the APPSC fiasco, the Galo Students Union president said, “An inspector of SIC had called him, this was the last call (made to Tumi Gangkak). Whoever made the last call knows everything. That person will have the exact knowledge as to what has happened.”
Meanwhile, Bazir Bole also said that if the demands of the deceased’s family is not met with, than the students body will call for a shutdown in the areas inhabited by the Galo community.
When asked about the demand of the Galo Students Union regarding it’s demand pertaining to the case he said, “That inspector from SIC who made the call (to Tumi Gangkak) must be arrested.”
