Aspiring actor found dead in Guwahati apartment

Police have swung into action and further probe into the matter is underway

Sensation prevailed in Guwahati’s Hengrabari area after an aspiring actor was found dead inside the apartment she was living in.

Prima facie the death appears to be a case of suicide.

The deceased identified as Ansuhka Saikia, hailed from Baligaon in Dhemaji district and was staying at House Nos-3 in the Namghar Path area.

The body was first seen by the maid, after which she raised an alarm. After that the neighbours of the deceased informed the police.

Kin of Anushka said, “She was working as a beautician. The door was not locked from inside, but it was tied to the handle with a towel. We have come to know that the body was not hanging properly. The rope was on the fan itself, but the body was lying in the floor. We have serious doubt about how the girl might have died. We asked the maid, but she could not say anything properly.”

This incident comes within a couple of weeks of a young lady found dead in an apartment in Guwahati on November 12.

The deceased was identified as Anju Dorjee, a resident of Bokajan in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
Her partner, Moni Khan, who was missing, was arrested later on charges of murder.
