Mizoram Polls 2023: Union Min and BJP leader Kiren Rijiju kickstarts BJP’s campaign in Mizoram

With barely two weeks left for the assembly elections in Mizoram for 40 seats, campaigning has picked up pace in all parts of the state. Days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi kick-started his party’s campaign in the poll-bound state, Union Minister and BJP leader Kiren Rijiju also kicked off BJP’s campaign on Thursday.
He held a public meeting at Siaha district. Addressing the gathering at Siaha, Minister Rijiju said that the BJP is fully geared up for the upcoming assembly elections.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s big development push in the region he said that the BJP is committed to providing a people-friendly government by bringing governance right to people’s doorsteps.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government has changed the whole approach of the Union Government towards Northeastern region and accorded top priority for the development of Northeast.
“We have BJP government in Delhi, if we have BJP MLAs and BJP Autonomous Concil Mizoram, a massive transformation will take place in the state. I can assure you that BJP is party of commitment. We have restored the democratic authority of the local tribal people. We have given respect and dignity to the tribal people.”
On 18 October, BJP has released list of 21 candidates for upcoming Mizoram polls scheduled to be held on November 7.
Counting of votes will take place in December 3.
