Rahul Gandhi exuded confidence that his party will return to power after the ensuing elections on November 7
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is on a hectic campaign trail in poll bound Mizoram, today alleged that both the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) and the Opposition Zoram Peoples’ Movement (ZPM) are acting in the interest of the BJP.
Gandhi on his second day of his visit to the state, while making sharp attacks on the MNF and the ZPM, exuded confidence that the Congress will be forming the next government in Mizoram.
Escalating his attack on the MNF and ZPM, Rahul Gandhi said, “Both the parties, no matter what they say, the MNF and the ZPM are the instruments for the BJP and RSS to enter this state. The Congress party can never be that instrument for the BJP to enter because ideologically we are totally against the BJP. So that is something the youngsters of Mizoram should think about. So, when you are going to vote keep in mind that the separation between the ZPM, MNF and the BJP is not as deep as you see it. The ZPM and the MNF are acting in the interests of the BJP. Both of them have said, MNF is of course directly aligned with the BJP and the ZPM has said that we will work with the BJP.“
According to Rahul Gandhi, people in the state are well aware of what is happening around in the context of elections. Gandhi said, “It is quite clear that the people of Mizoram understand what is being done. The big question is -Is the RSS going to control Mizoram? Yes or No. The RSS has two ways of controlling Mizoram-one is the ZPM and the other is MNF. The message that I want to give to the people of Mizoram is very clear. The Congress party has a program, it has a record.“
The Congress scion is also confident that his party will return to power after the ensuing elections. He said, “I am ready to have a bet with you that the Congress is going to be forming the government in Mizoram. There is no question.”
