Mizoram: Office bearers for newly formed Zo ethnic group ‘Zo United’ will be elected tomorrow

Sources said that Manipur’s Minister for Tribal Affairs and Hills department Letpao Haokip will be convener of the meeting tomorrow
The office bearers for the newly formed Zo ethnic group ‘Zo United’ will be elected tomorrow in a meeting in Aizawl, Mizoram.
It may be mentioned here that earlier this month, representatives of all the various sub-tribe-based groups from the Kuki-Zomi-Hmar-Mizo communities in the Manipur hill tribal area formed the umbrella group “Zo United” to strengthen the unity and coordination amongst all the ethnic Mizo groups and associations attached to the groups.
According to sources, there will be one representative from each of the ethnic Mizo sub-tribe organizations Kuki Inpi, Hmar Inpui, Paite Tribe Council (representing Zomi/Zo sub-tribe), United Zou Organization, Simte Tribe Council, and Mizo People’s Convention.
Sources said that Manipur’s Minister for Tribal Affairs and Hills department Letpao Haokip will be convener of the meeting to be hosted b Aizawl-based central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA).
