Arunachal Pradesh: 25 towns can now pay power bills online

The onboarding of 16 towns to online payment platform, the state has covered 25 of its 49 notified urban towns having a total of 1,17,579 consumers, CM informed.

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu today launched the e-billing and payment platform in 16 more towns in the state.

With this, consumers of 25 urban towns of the state will have the facility to pay their power bills online through any digital payment system.

The 16 towns connected during the day include Tawang, Bomdila, Dirang, Basar, Koloriang, Boleng, Yingkiong, Sagalee, Changlang, Longding, Miao, Jairampur, Deomali, Khonsa, Anini and Hawai.
Nine towns – Itanagar, Naharlagun, Daporijo, Ziro, Aalo, Pasighat, Roing, Tezu and Namsai – were onboarded in the first phase.

“This is a step towards digital empowerment and I compliment the department for this intervention”, Khandu said.

Taking to Twitter, Khandu wrote, “Digital payment will not only boost revenue generation but also facilitate consumers to pay their bills as per their convenience without going to electricity offices. With this, the @doparunachal has covered 25 of its 49 notified urban towns with a total of 1,17,579 consumers.”

“Happy to share that one consumer from each 16 towns paid their electricity bills online during the launch event. Also a proposal of @doparunachal for the establishment of an independent cell for IT-based consumer services is there with me. I shall clear that soon”, Khandu added.
