Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity, or COCOMI, an apex body of civil societies in Imphal, on Monday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through his office on the resolutions adopted by it during the mass rally against narco-terrorism held in Imphal on July 29.

A three-member COCOMI delegation, which includes Khuraijam Athouba, submitted the memorandum to the Prime Minister.

The key resolutions include:

  • To end the present conflict, foreign (illegal immigrants) Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorism must be totally exterminated
  • No separate administrative arrangement in Manipur
  • National Register of Citizens (NRC) must be fully implemented in Manipur
  • The COCOMI maintained that these key resolutions will help resolve the current ongoing violence in Manipur.
  • A special session of the Assembly should be summoned by 5th August, 2023 to adopt some action oriented resolutions to save Manipur. If the session is not summoned by the given dateline, strong agitations will be followed according to people’s resolution
  • A memorandum should be submitted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to apprise the first three resolutions
