Meghalaya is set to become the second state in the country to host the prestigious Indian Responsible Tourism State Awards
In a significant announcement on July 28, Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh revealed that Meghalaya is set to become the second state in the country to host the prestigious Indian Responsible Tourism State Awards, following in the footsteps of Rajasthan.
Speaking to the media, Minister Paul Lyngdoh conveyed that Meghalaya has joined forces with the renowned Outlook Magazine, to facilitate the event. The awards will be distributed in various categories that acknowledge the commendable efforts of individuals and organizations in promoting tourism, with a special focus on sectors such as culinary experiences and homestays.
“We are partnering with Outlook Magazine which has a huge international presence, and we have identified certain categories where people who have been promoting tourism for instance food, homestays will be identified for the awards,” Lyngdoh told media persons.
The selection process for the awardees will be overseen by a distinguished national-level jury, ensuring a fair and unbiased evaluation. Minister Lyngdoh underlined that it is the responsibility of the Meghalaya state government to recommend deserving candidates for these esteemed awards.
