In a proud moment, three youths from Assam, including a woman, successfully climbed Mt. Hanuman Tibba, the highest peak of the Dhauladhar Range in Himachal Pradesh.

Hanuman Tibba peak, however, Biswajyoti Haloi from Goalpara could not proceed further from a Summit Camp at over 18,000 ft due to a sudden illness.

Ditujit Kemprai, DHAA secretary, said they feel very proud that they are the first organisation to send a team to an expedition from the district and also the first to come out successful.
“We hope that our team will summits more peaks in coming days and more youths from our district will come up,” the DHAA secretary said.
Rajasree Khersa, Dima Hasao’s first woman mountaineer, said that she feels lucky enough to get the opportunity to join the expedition right after her Advance Mountaineering Course.
“Climbing Mountain is not only reaching the top and posing for a picture. It’s lot more than that, one cannot climb mountain just for fun, it demands everything from you be it energy or attitude. I have heard a lot from seniors, instructors and sources that accidents happen during descend and it is lot more safe ascending, and this is what I experienced this time and get to know the actual cost and fact that why do those really occur during descend.” Said Khersa.
“I am glad that me and my team are successful in summiting the peak and we are back guardedly.” She added.
