Since the pre-paid meters were installed, consumers have been complaining about receiving inflated power bills

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the state government has successfully resolved 57 of the 60 complaints concerning power bills.

In view of the anguish of consumers due to faulty power tariffs in the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged consumers to send complaints to the CM office directly.

The CM office received a total of 60 complaints so far. 57 out of the 60 complaints have successfully been resolved, said CM Sarma.

“In light of recent widespread media coverage highlighting the distress of our valued consumers due to faulty power tariffs, I have requested that complaints be sent directly to my office. We have received only 60 complaints, out of which we have successfully resolved 57 so far,” CM Sarma tweeted.

It may be mentioned here that in Assam, the power department has installed smart pre-paid meters mostly in the urban areas.

However, since the pre-paid meters were installed, consumers have been complaining about receiving inflated power bills.
