Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, reacting on the vexed Assam-Meghalaya interstate boundary dispute issue, said that the only solution to the problem is to adopt a give and take policy.

Tynsong, while stating that the state government would prefer a meeting between the two Chief Ministers on the issue, said that if both the states keep fighting over the boundary dispute issue, there would be no permanent solution until and unless both states agree to the policy of give and take.

He further said that the chief secretaries of both states meet on a regular basis in case there is any issue between the two states. Moreover, he added that the Meghalaya government had earlier submitted documents and maps to the Assam government to substantiate its claim on the disputed areas but the action of Assam government on the claim is not known till now.
