PAJSC has requested that the Enforcement Director (ED) to establish a base camp in Itanagar due to the case's rapid progression
The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) will stage a dharna on May 6, 2023, protesting the delay in the investigation into the alleged Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as per inputs.
Furthermore, PAJSC has requested the Enforcement Director (ED) to establish a base camp in Itanagar to ensure faster due to the case’s rapid progression.
It may be mentioned here that earlier in April, the PAJSC submitted a representation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu with a detailed overview for the fulfilment of the 13 points charter of demands and immediate fulfilment of the unaddressed and related points before April 18.
PAJC vice-president Tadak Nalo said that the representation highlights where the government has failed to address some aspects which are part of the 13-point charter of demands.
As many as 42 government employees including the APPSC deputy secretary and deputy controller of examinations have been arrested so far in connection with the paper leak case.
Arunachal Pradesh home minister Bamang Felix earlier said that certain actions cannot be taken against them as a CBI probe is on and only after the investigation is completed can the process be completed.
On August 27-28, 2022 examinations were conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to fill 33 posts of Assistant Engineer (Civil). A total of 415 candidates appeared in the examination.
Gyamar Padung, a candidate, filed a police complaint about an alleged question paper leak on August 29, 2022.
On September, 27, Itanagar Police handed over the case to the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh police. Later, APPSC chairman Nipo Nabam also resigned on moral grounds.
In October, the case was handed over to CBI and since then CBI is investigating the matter.
