A gruesome incident of mob lynching has sent shock waves across Assam where two persons lost their lives.The incident has been reported from Dokmoka area in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

The two young men, identified as Abhijit Das and Nilotpal Nath, sound engineers by profession were travelling to Panjuri village situated at Dakmaka in Assam’s Western Karbi Anglong district for holidays.

The lynch mob suspected the duo to be child snatchers. Rumors started spreading and they were questioned by the locals regarding their identity. The mob mercilessly beat and thrashed the duo until they succumbed to their injuries.

The victims Abhijeet Das and Nilotpal Nath hailed from Guwahati’s Six Mile and Silpukhuri respectively.
