Tension prevailed at Hime village in Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, following alleged violation of the status quo along the Assam-Arunachal interstate border in the area.
Trouble started when an Assam-based construction company allegedly illegally started road construction in the village by dumping sand on wet-rice cultivation area belonging to 10 households in the village.
Later villagers arrived at the spot and stopped the construction. Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said the issue should be resolved amicably.
