Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix hold key meet with representatives of Parents Joint Committee against Null and void

In a big positive development in the ongoing tussle over declaring all APPSC exams held since 2014 ‘null and void or invalid, Arunachal Pradesh home minister Bamang Felix has assured a delegation of the
Parents Joint Committee that the government will not do any such thing, claims the secretary of the Parents Joint Committee against Null and void, Ajay Matam.

The representatives of the Committee had submitted a representation to the minister requesting the state government to roll back its decision to declare all APPSC exams held since 2014, Null and Void.

A key meeting was held between the home minister and the representatives on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media, the secretary of the Parents Joint Committee against Null and void, Ajay Matam, informed that the representatives of the committee were called for a meeting by the Home Minister and Chief Secretary.

Matam further informed that the meeting had a positive outcome and Home Minister Bamang Felix has assured them that the Null and Void of exams will not take place.

The statement issued by the Parents Joint Committee against Null and void read “We the parents of the affected Government employees, do hereby humbly request your kind authority to seriously look into the insurmountable repercussions that may arise if the Null & Void demand is forwarded and kindly reconsider the decision of sending the demand of Null and Void placed by the PAJSC & ANSU to the APPSC and cancel it all together.

We are ready to go to any length to address and resolve the issue, the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, if willing, may like to call a meeting of all the stakeholders and deliberate over the matter and bring a logical conclusion to this unjustified and illogical demand as soon as possible”.

Earlier, aggrieved and worried parents of students who had cleared the APPSC exams since 2014 took out a peaceful protest rally in Itanagar against the Arunachal Pradesh government’s decision to declare all APPSC exams held since 2014 as null and void. The peaceful rally was staged from Akashdeep Ganga Market to Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar.

The Arunachal government had after a meeting on February 18 with the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) decided to declare the APPSC exams from 2014-2022 as null and void as certain irregularities are said to have been found and not the best practices followed while conducting the exams.

If the Null & Void of exams is accepted then many boys and girls who had cleared the exams and are doing government jobs now would be rendered jobless.
