Trinamool Congres MP Mahua Moitra today came out all guns blazing against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, a day after he termed the TMC as the B-Team of BJP. Moitra said that the TMC does not need to prove the anti-BJP credentials to anyone.
Addressing a press briefing, Mahua Moitra reacted and said, “the days of only national parties are over here in India. If we have to rely on a bi-party system, there would be no hope left for democracy in India. The Trinamool has fought for 34-years against the Left, and has come to power in West Bengal. We are there in for the 3rd term. We don’t need to prove our anti-BJP credentials to anyone.”
Moitra further added,”All of us sitting here have demonstrated to the people of India, our Chairperson has demonstrated to the people of India that if there is any force standing strong against all odds, it is the Trinamool against the BJP.”
Reiterating her party’s strong stand against the BJP and what seemed to be a strong response to Rahul Gandhi’s remark, Moitra further said,”I dont think we need to prove this and we dont need a certificate from anyone. As far as we are concerned, we are out to defeat the BJP and all the allies of the BJP. We are a national party and we have the right to fight the elections in every state. We have proven in West Bengal.”
Lashing out at the incumbent MDA government and previous governments, Mahua Moitra said that the TMC is in the poll bound state to provide the people an alternative.
She said,”The people of Meghalaya, the development of Meghalaya is not something to be thrown away. And I think that any government that for the past 5 years in power has done nothing for infrastructure, for roads, for healthcare or all round development, deserves to be shown the door. And we are here to offer the people an alternative. We dont need to prove our credentials to anyone and we thank the people for the love and affection, they have shown us.”
