Meghalaya: CM Sangma inaugurates key projects ahead of polls

Among the projects inaugurated are --Viewing Deck nd the Nok•Achik adjacent to the Nokrek National Park, Sasatgre to Sakal A’duma road and the Sasatgre to Darebokgre road
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today virtually inaugurated the Viewing Deck and the Nok•Achik adjacent to the Nokrek National Park at Darebokgre.
“Under Swadesh Darshan Scheme we inaugurated the Viewing Deck & the Nok•Achik adjacent to the Nokrek National Park at Darebokgre. The Viewing Deck offers a panoramic view of the landscape around Nokrek which is the highest peak in the Garo Hills range @kishanreddybjp @tourismgoi” CM Conrad Sangma tweeted.
Both the projects were built under Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Central government.

The Nok•Achik, a traditional house of the Garo tribe is constructed in traditional Garo architectural design. It can be seen next to the viewing deck.
CM Sangma also inaugurated two road projects leading up to the foothills of the Nokrek Peak. One is Sasatgre to Sakal A’duma road and the other one is Sasatgre to Darebokgre road.
“Happy to virtually inaugurate two road projects leading up to the foothills of the Nokrek Peak- Sasatgre to Sakal A’duma road and the Sasatgre to Darebokgre road” CM Sangma tweeted.
The road starting from Sasatgre connecting Sakal A’duma and Darebokgre connects key tourist destinations and with the convenience brought through these two roads, tourism in the area will flourish, said CM Sangma.
