“The COVID review meeting was a procedural meeting in terms of the overall situation as seen globally.”Prime Minister Narendra Modi also presided over a high-level virtual meeting to review the COVID-19 situation in the country and its related aspects.

Speaking about the festive fervour in the state, Chief Minister Sangma advised people to continue wearing masks and take the necessary precautions.

“The Covid review meeting is a precautionary meeting because we are all leaving for Christmas break.” In this festive season, the only advice to people is to “wear masks.”

The BF.7 is the same as BS.5.2.1.7, which is a sub-lineage of the Omicron. People who are not vaccinated or have weaker immunity, such as elderly citizens and children, are at high risk of catching this infection.
