Taktsang Village of Arunachal along India-Tibet Border to get Electricity Soon

DC of Tawang visited the under-construction 250 KW hydel power project at Taktsang Chhu and reviewed the progress of the project

Good news for the people of the border village of Taktsang in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. This extreme border village along the India-Tibet border will have an electricity connection soon.
Kesang Ngurup Damo, Deputy Commissioner of Tawang visited the under-construction 250 KW hydel power project at Taktsang Chhu and reviewed the progress of the project.
The DC was accompanied by the Executive Engineer of the Department of Hydro Power Development Sajish, Assistant Engineers Tashi Tsering, Bige Sora and other officials involved with the implementation of the project.
The project is being implemented under Golden Jubilee Border Village Illumination Programme Phase-I.
The power generated from this hydel project will also cater to the establishments of Army, BRO and Paramilitary forces in the border villages.
After monitoring the project at Taktsang Chhu the Deputy Commissioner and the engineers also visited the defunct 25 KW mini hydel power project at Kereteng and discussed with security officers and engineers on the prospects to revive the defunct power project.
