31 Cadres of KCP (PWG), PREPAK, UNLF and KYKL Militant Groups Surrender in Imphal

Seventeen cadres (including 4 female cadres) from the militant outfit KCP (PWG), 7 from PREPAK, 4 from UNLF, and 3 from KYKL militant group

Thirty one cadres including 4 female cadres from different militant groups, laid down their arms and surrendered in the presence of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today (November 16) at the Home Coming ceremony held in Imphal.

The cadres who surrendered today include 17 (including 4 female cadres) from the militant outfit KCP (PWG), 7 from PREPAK, 4 from UNLF, and 3 from KYKL militant group.

The cadres surrendered one M-16 Rifle, one M-4 Rifle, one Lethod Gun, one Single Barrel Gun, 11 Pistols and around 5 kg of IED.

Top police officials, Army and Assam Rifles officials were also present at the event.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Chief Minister Biren Singh said more militants are returning to the mainstream, which shows their trust and faith towards the Centre and state governments.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Biren Singh wrote, “The 31 cadres of the different valley-based UG groups include 17 KCP (PWG), 4 UNLF, 6 PREPAK, 3 KYKL, and 1 PREPAK (VC). As many as 15 arms including three Lathod shells, one lED and three live rounds were surrendered.”

Manipur DGP P Doungel confirmed to Northeast Live that so far 788 cadres from different outfits have joined the mainstream.
