Assam BJP has left the second seat for ally UPPL. For the second seat of the Rajya Sabha elections, the UPPL is fielding its working president Rwngwra Narzary.

UPPL chief Pramod Boro said that he would meet Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over formulating a strategy for the Rajya Sabha polls. He thanked all partners of the ruling BJP coalition for their support of the UPPL candidate.

He added that three MLAs are in charge of the floor management and Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is overseeing the process.

It is to be mentioned Pabitra Margherita will be the BJP’s candidate for one of the Rajya Sabha seats of Assam going to elections on March 31. It may be mentioned that two Rajya Sabha seats from the state will fall vacant after terms of Congress MPs Ripun Bora and Ranee Narah will come to an end on April 2.
