In a disturbing video, a traffic police personnel was seen aggressively beating a civilian in the middle of the road in Guwahati’s Paltan Bazar area, completely unconcerned with the child and his wife in the back seat of his motorcycle.
The incident took place yesterday.
The police constable has been identified as Fakruddin Ahmed.
Later, the Assam Police’s traffic department has suspended Fakruddin Ahmed for his alleged indisciplinary conduct.

The suspension, approved by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, came after the video went viral on social media.

It may be mentioned here that Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had said earlier that while the state police has all the rights to nab offenders and criminals, civilians should not be harmed by police personnel at any cost.
