Manipur Elections 2022: ECI delegation reviews poll preparedness

The delegation, which arrived in the state on Monday, today addressed the media and talked about the various discussions they had with political parties yesterday. Talking about it, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra stated that the delegation took suggestions from political parties with regard to the polls.

The delegation stated that they have taken feedback on the suggestion of changing the election day from Sunday to some other day. Sushil Chandra said that the delegation would take the suggestions to New Delhi and soon arrive at a decision.

Chandra also talked about the special provisions that are being created for women during the elections. Meanwhile, information was also given out regarding the Covid norms that would be in force during the elections.

Sushil Chandra also gave out information about the casting of postal ballots in the two-phase elections. It is to be noted here that the first phase of polling will be held on February 27 and March 3.

The ECI Chief Election Commissoner is being accompanied by Election Commissioners Rajiv Kumar and Anup Chandra Pandey and other senior officials of the ECI.
