Manipur polls: BJP Core meet in Delhi today, finalisation of candidates likely

Ahead of the Assembly elections, a meeting of the core group of the Manipur BJP will be held today at the party’s headquarters in Delhi.

The core committe meeting holds significance as the BJP is likely to finalise its list of candidates for the ensuing polls.

The core committee members, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh and State BJP President Sarada Devi, among others, will be meeting the BJP high command in Delhi. 

It may be mentioned that, The Assembly election is scheduled to be held in two phases on February 27 and March 3 and the results will be declared on March 10.

The tenure of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, which consists of 60 members, is scheduled to end on March 19, 2022.
