In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, the Tripura government has extended the duration of the night curfew by an hour with effect from Thursday.
The curfew timings in the state have now been revised as 8 pm to 5 am till January 31.
Earlier the night curfew timing was from 9 pm to 5 am.
Meanwhile, the state Police have intensified patrolling and were seen vigilant on the roads over the movement of vehicles during the curfew hours.
The state reported 1,185 fresh cases of the infection in the last 24 hours. With these fresh cases, the state’s Covid tally rose to 95,388.

The state’s active caseload stands at 7,619.
West Tripura district registered the highest new cases of the virus, with 483 cases, followed by South Tripura district (150), and Gomati district (144).
The positivity rate in the State currently stands at 13.61 percent, while capital Agartala recorded the highest positivity at above 23%.
On the other hand, as many as 7 Covid-related deaths have also been reported in the state during the period. The total death toll in the state has risen to 852.
