Many Political leaders on Thursday addressed the issue of sanitary napkins in the Assam State Assembly.

During the session, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLAs Mrinal Saikia and Angorlata Deka put forward their concern for rural girls of the state and pledged the government to raise awareness in regard to menstrual hygiene and usage of sanitary napkins.

However, the opposition did not deviate from the issue raised as Nandita Das, who is an MLA from Boko constituency, also became vocal in support of the argument.
