Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday lashed out at senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh for his sensational remark over alleged diversion of urea to hill areas of the state facilitating poppy cultivation.
Reacting sharply to the Congress leader’s tweet, CM Biren Singh said that the people of hill districts will give a befitting reply to the Congress.
The Manipur Chief Minister added that people are aware of the reality and that every farmer is getting fertiliser.
It may be mentioned that senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh sparked a row by questioning the alleged shortage of urea for farmers in Manipur.
Ramesh alleged that urea supplied to the state is being constantly diverted to the hill areas where poppy is being grown for opium in large tracts since the last 4 years. He further alleged that the state government is fully complicit in it.
