In a shocking incident, a human organ trafficking racket has been exposed in Assam’s Morigaon district with the surrender of a key accused named Ramen Medhi.

However, the mastermind of this racket, identified as Plaban Borthakur, is still at large.

According to the police, Mr Borthakur is a history sheeter and owns many properties in Morigaon, Guwahati and Kolkata.

The organ scam came to light after after the police received a secret information that many poor villagers of Dharamtul were being sent to Kolkata and other big cities with an intention to harvest their organs.
