A 37-year-old woman from Khangabok in Manipur’s Thoubal district reportedly died on Monday, just hours after receiving a Covishield vaccine shot.

According to the family members of the victim, she died due to the after effects of the vaccine. They said that the victim complained of uneasiness a short while after taking the jab.

However, there is no conclusive evidence yet to support their claim.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has agreed to launch a one-man enquiry committee to probe the matter and determine the exact cause of the victim’s death.

As per reports, the decision was taken after consultations were held between the Chief Minister and family members of the deceased and a joint committee formed in connection with her death.

The Manipur government has been pushing the vaccination drive all across the state.
