A 25-year-old person was killed in a grenade explosion at Tingrai market of Digboi in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Friday.

The victim has been identified as one Sanjib Sen. Three other persons were also injured in the blast.

“It was around 1 PM when a customer came to our shop. Then the explosion took place. The customer and two other persons were also injured,” said an eye-witness.

Meanwhile, police has begun investigation into the incident.

“Our top officials including DIG arrived on the spot. We are investigating the case,” Tinsukia SP said.
