The Assam Police will strictly implement wearing of masks in public places to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Additional Director of Assam Police (Law and order) GP Singh informed this in his official twitter handle.
GP Singh’s tweet mentions that as per Guidelines on COVID-19 management under DM Act, 2005 there would be strict implementation on wearing of face mask or cover in public places.
He also added that those riding two-wheelers are not supposed to carry a pillion. There will be a complete ban on pillion riding.
As per directive, those who are permitted to move during the lockdown must have just one person in the private car, seated in the backseat, apart from the driver in case of a four-wheeler.
Furthermore, Singh added that spitting in public places shall be a punishable offence and Assam Police will take strict action on those who will not follow these guidelines.
