Four states, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha, have been put on red alert by the Indian Meteorological Department due to an impending heatwave set to last for the next two to three days.

In addition to the red alert, an orange alert has been issued for portions of Telangana, Karnataka, and Sikkim.
