The prime suspect in the sensational murder case of Manipur’s renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem’s mother Rekha Devi, is being produced before the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Imphal East on Monday. The prime suspect N Dijamani is the husband of Rekha Devi.
In the meantime, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) has called for a speedy investigation into the case and also demanded justice for the family of the deceased at the earliest.
Addressing media persons in Imphal on Sunday, JAC Convenor N Michael informed that a silent sit-in protest will be held today at Singjamei area in demand of justice to the family of Th Rekha Devi.
It is to be mentioned here that Rekha Devi was murdered on May 29 at her own residence at Singjamei Thokchom Leikei after which the husband of the deceased, N Dijamani was picked up by the police as the prime suspect in the case.
N Dijamani was produced at the CJM court on June 1 and was taken to 10 days police custody for further interrogation.
