In a boost to the Congress in Tripura, three women leaders of the IPFT’s women cell joined the Congress on Sunday evening.
The leaders who joined the Congress are IPFT’s women cell Vice President Binabala Debbarman, organising secretary Meriami Reang and Advising committee’s member Radha Moni Debbarma.
The three leaders joined the Congress in presence of State Congress President Pradyut Debbaman at his residence, the Ujjayanta Palace.
Speaking to the media, Pradyot said that the IPFT women leaders joined Congress in opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
The development comes just days after the IPFT had turned down the Congress’ offer of an alliance.
