The rare wolfdog, bred in the United States, is just eight months old and already weighs 75kg while standing 30 inches tall.
A Bengaluru-based dog breeder, S Sathish, has made headlines after spending a staggering Rs 50 crore (approximately $4.4 million) on a rare “wolfdog” named Cadabomb Okami. This unique canine is a cross between a wild wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd, making it the first of its kind and the most expensive wolfdog in the world.
The rare wolfdog, bred in the United States, is just eight months old and already weighs 75kg while standing 30 inches tall. Sathish, 51, purchased Okami through a broker in February, as reported by The Sun.
“He is an extremely rare breed of dog and looks exactly like a wolf. This breed has never been sold in the world before,” Sathish told The Sun. “I spent 50 million rupees on buying this pup because I am fond of dogs and like to own unique dogs and introduce them to India.”
Who is S Sathish?
S Sathish is a prominent figure in India’s dog breeding community, heading the Indian Dog Breeders Association. Although he stopped breeding dogs some years ago, Sathish now earns a significant income by showcasing his rare dogs at public events.
His appearances are highly sought after, earning him approximately Rs 2.5 lakh for a 30-minute session and up to Rs 10 lakh for a five-hour event.
“I spent money on these dogs because they are rare,” Sathish explained. “People are always curious to see them, take selfies, and capture pictures. My dog and I often receive more attention than celebrities at movie screenings we’re both crowd-pullers.”
Apart from Cadabomb Okami, Sathish also owns a Chow Chow that resembles a red panda. His extensive seven-acre farm provides ample space for his dogs, with each canine housed in a 20ft by 20ft kennel. To ensure their safety, the property is enclosed by a 10-foot-tall wall and monitored by 24/7 CCTV surveillance.
