Businessman Rajesh Himatsingka arrested on charges of financial fraud

Controversial businessman Rajesh Himatsingka has been arrested from the Amchoi tea estate near Guwahati on charges of financial irregularities. The arrest was made on the basis of a police complaint

Controversial businessman Rajesh Himatsingka has been arrested from the Amchoi tea estate near Guwahati on charges of financial irregularities.

The arrest was made on the basis of a police complaint filed by a woman identified as Draupadi Modi.

The complaint was filed by Draupadi with the Kamrup Metro district magistrate back in 2012 over financial irregularities amounting to almost Rs 40 lakh. A non-bailable warrant was issued against Himatsingka back then.

After police nabbed the businessman who was allegedly hiding in the Amchoi tea estate, he was brought back to Guwahati yesterday evening.
