Controversial businessman Rajesh Himatsingka has been arrested from the Amchoi tea estate near Guwahati on charges of financial irregularities.

The arrest was made on the basis of a police complaint filed by a woman identified as Draupadi Modi.

The complaint was filed by Draupadi with the Kamrup Metro district magistrate back in 2012 over financial irregularities amounting to almost Rs 40 lakh. A non-bailable warrant was issued against Himatsingka back then.

After police nabbed the businessman who was allegedly hiding in the Amchoi tea estate, he was brought back to Guwahati yesterday evening.
