Meghalaya Power Minister AT Mondal Urges Responsible Electricity Use Ahead of Festive Season

The Minister cautioned that overloading the electrical system could result in transformer failures, leading to possible power supply disruptions.

Meghalaya Power Minister AT Mondal has called on the state’s citizens to use electricity responsibly during the upcoming festive season, particularly with Christmas and New Year around the corner.

While reassuring the public that the state is well-prepared for power availability, Minister Mondal emphasized the importance of prudent electricity consumption.

“Though we are in a comfortable position regarding power availability, we should use electricity as judiciously as possible to prevent any untoward incidents,” he said.

The Minister further cautioned that overloading the electrical system could result in transformer failures, leading to possible power supply disruptions.

“There may be chances of power supply disruption because of transformer overload, so let us use power responsibly,” he added.

He stressed that responsible consumption is crucial to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
