Manipur CM N Biren Singh Assures Efforts to Rescue Missing Manipuri Man from Assam in Leimakhong, Kangpokpi

CM N Biren Singh appealed to the public to remain calm and patient as the search efforts continue.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today said that the state government, in coordination with the army and other central forces, is making every effort to locate and rescue 56-year-old Laishram Kamalbabu of Assam who had gone missing from Leimakhong in Kangpokpi district.

Laishram Kamalbabu, hailing from Goshaipur, Assam who had been stationed in Imphal for work under the Military Engineer Services at the 57 Mountain Division in Leimakhong, Kangpokpi had gone missing on November 25.

Speaking about the ongoing search operations, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that Kamalbabu’s signature had been found in the army campus entry register, indicating that he went missing from within the campus.

CM Biren Singh reiterated that the army has been instructed to take primary responsibility for the rescue operation and provide clear updates on Kamalbabu’s whereabouts.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) which includes local leaders and concerned citizens formed to demand the swift rescue of the missing man. It has submitted a memorandum outlining their grievances and calling for urgent action to find Kamalbabu.

The Chief Minister accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Heikham Dingo Singh also met with members of the JAC and assured them that the state government is treating the matter with utmost seriousness. He stressed that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of the missing individual.

The CM further appealed to the public to remain calm and patient as the search efforts continue, emphasizing that the state government is fully committed to resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
