The results of the 11,000 candidates who took the PET in Garo Hills on September 30 and October 1 will remain valid.
The Meghalaya government has postponed the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for the recruitment of Sub Inspectors and Guardsmen in the Home Guard and Civil Defence Directorate due to unfavorable ground conditions caused by heavy rains. Minister Coming One Ymbon conveyed this decision to the media, emphasizing the impact of the weather on test conditions.
Out of 22,424 applicants for 445 positions, candidates who appeared for the PET on October 2nd and 3rd will be allowed to retake the test, as their performance was affected by the poor ground conditions. However, the results of the 11,000 candidates who took the PET in Garo Hills on September 30 and October 1 will remain valid.
The minister held an urgent meeting with the Central Recruitment Board of the Department after the inspection and also met the candidates scheduled to participate in the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) today, before giving the decision to postpone the tests in view of the inclement weather and the weather forecast for the coming days.
The PET is part of the recruitment process for 445 vacant posts, including 4 Sub Inspectors, 284 Guardsmen, 17 Drivers, and 140 Non-Combatant Employees, conducted across two centers in Tura and Shillong.
