Meghalaya Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh Lashes Out At Nepotism Narrative, Says Politicians Also Have Qualifications And Merit

Lyngdoh urged the public to recognize the efforts of political leaders and to avoid undermining their ambitions.
Meghalaya Health Minister Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh has made a heartfelt appeal to the public and critics to stop targeting the family members of politicians over nepotism allegations. Drawing on her personal experiences as the daughter of the late parliamentarian Peter G. Marbaniang and sister of former Home Minister Robert Garnett Lyngdoh, she voiced her frustration over the criticism faced by those with political family connections, despite their hard work and qualifications.
In defense of Agatha Sangma, daughter of former Chief Minister P.A. Sangma and sister of current Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Dr. Lyngdoh questioned why such capable individuals should be dismissed merely because of their family backgrounds. She stressed the importance of evaluating politicians based on their merit and contributions, rather than solely on their family background.
Lyngdoh urged the public to recognize the efforts of political leaders and to avoid undermining their ambitions.
She further called for a fair and balanced assessment of their work, asserting that all politicians should be judged by their abilities and achievements, not by their familial connections, and advocated for an end to the unfair criticism directed at political families.
