Assam’s Dr. Purabi Saikia Conferred ‘Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2024’

Dr Purabi Saikia of Assam, Associate Professor of Botany department at the Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University was conferred ‘Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2024’.
She was given the award for her contributions to the field of environmental science.
Plant ecology, soil ecology, and biodiversity protection are among Saikia’s scientific specializations.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu took to X to congratulate Saika and wrote, “Congratulations to 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐚, Associate Professor of the Botany, Banaras Hindu University, for being conferred the 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐩 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 for her exceptional contribution to environmental science. The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon young scientists who have made exceptional contributions to the field of science and technology.
Dr. Saikia earlier worked at Ranchi’s Central University of Jharkhand.
