The indefinite hunger strike at the Manipur University entered its third day on Wednesday with female students at the Girls’ Hostel registering their protests against the recent crackdown by police
The indefinite hunger strike at the Manipur University entered its third day on Wednesday with female students at the Girls’ Hostel registering their protests against the recent crackdown by police and security forces in the university campus.
The protestors have been demanding for the unconditional release of the arrested students and teachers of the institute. Their demands also include the removal of police from the campus.
Lately around six female students who were on hunger strike were picked up by the police and hospitals when their conditions deteriorated.
Meanwhile, a move was initiated by the students of the Manipur University within the campus whereby they distributed pamphlets among the teachers appealing them not to take part in the examinations.
