Arunachal civil society demands strict punishment for accused involved in inter-state sex racket, says “No one should walk out free”

Arunachal civil society said that anyone involved in this, whether they come from an influential family or not, must face severe consequences.

After the women’s wing of Arunachal’s apex student body, All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) strongly condemned the inter-state sex racket operating in Arunachal, the Arunachal civil society too has condemned the operations and demanded stern punishment for those involved.
The racket, which involved the trafficking and exploitation of many minor girls was busted in the heart of Arunachal’s capital Itanagar last week.
The Arunachal civil society said that the accused arrested in connection with the heinous crime should not be granted bail at any cost and should be given strict punishment.
It said that the status of the accused should not influence the actions taken against them. Anyone involved in this, whether they come from an influential family or not, must face severe consequences.
“Not a single accused must walk out free,” it added.
So far 5 victims have been rescued by the state police and 21 individuals including traffickers, pimps and sexual assailants (Both from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh) have been arrested.
Among the arrestees involved in the heinous crime is Toi Bagra (35), Deputy SP of Bulang Marik posted at 1st AAPBN in Itanagar, Constable.
The racket was busted after the Capital Police team got credible inputs of a prostitution racket involving minor girls being run from Chimpu. The girls were being taken from Dhemaji in the neighbouring state of Assam.
